Thomas W. Smith

Thomas W. Smith passed away at the age of 89 on January 21, 2026.

He was born January 7, 1937 in Belvidere NJ.

Tom enlisted in the Air Force 1956 and served until 1960. He was a New Jersey State Trooper from 1960-1975. He then became a Pastor at Fellowship Church from 1975-1991. He then planted Sovereign Grace Baptist Bible Church, which is now Harmony Bible Fellowship Church, in 1992 and continued until he retired 2023. He had a passion for the Word of God and a desire to share the gospel with all people. He was a godly under shepherd and cared deeply for the people who God brought to the church.

He is survived by his wife Janice L. Smith, his son Timothy J. Smith, and his five grandchildren (Josiah, Kristy, Taylor, Brooke, Brittney). He is preceded in death by his Father Silas Smith, Mother Viola Smith, Brothers Ted Smith and Bud Smith, and his children Mark Smith (1972) and Rhonda Meyer (2007). He loved his family very deeply.

The memorial service will be held on January 31, 2026, 11:00 am, at Harmony Bible Fellowship 2603 Belvidere Rd., Harmony, NJ 08865. The Finegan Funeral Homes of Phillipsburg & Alpha are coordinating arrangements. Visit Fineganfh.com.
