Catherine A. Tierney

Catherine A. Tierney, 82, of Pohatcong Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026. She was born on June 10, 1944 in Elizabeth, NJ, a daughter of the late Matthew and Viola Sholl Tierney.

Catherine was a second grade teacher in the Phillipsburg School District for many years. She enjoyed the simple things in life, traveling, gardening, spending relaxing time at the beach and just being with her friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Tierney.

Catherine is survived by her loving children, Tricia Telmosse and her husband, J.R. Hann of Phillipsburg, NJ., Elizabeth Telmosse and her husband Omar Bandar of Windthrop, MA., and Matthew Telmosse of Kirkland, WA. She is also survived by her sister Grace Roselli of Toms River, NJ, along with her cherished grandchildren that affectionately called her “Gaga”, Devin, Ryan Ollie, Matthew, Evelyn, Ella and Harper.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 2nd Ave., Alpha, NJ, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 830 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ. Entombment will then take place at St. Mary Mausoleum, Alpha, NJ.
