MaryAnn DiVittorio

MaryAnn DiVittorio, 81, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026.
The daughter of the late Steven and Catherine (Bogusky) Marish. Wife of the late Hugo “Pete” DiVittorio.

MaryAnn graduated Phillipsburg High School in 1962 and spent her entire career serving others. Her early years were spent managing the Woolworths lunch counter, where she eventually met the love of her life, Pete. After marrying in 1973, Pete and MaryAnn founded Pete’s Place, a neighborhood bar serving cold drinks, towering freshly sliced sandwiches, and on pay-days, Ingersoll’s 2nd shift. Pete and MaryAnn spent decades taking trips together and spreading laughter, love and joy with family and friends, until Pete passed suddenly in 1993. MaryAnn spent her final working years at Italy’s where her warm smile, kindness and gracious manner welcomed customers.

MaryAnn was a devoted Yankees fan, supporting them even in their toughest years. She was a member of the Golden Girls, a group of high school friends who, after helping each other raise families and navigate relationships, formed a pact to cross off as many states, casinos, and toll-free roads as possible. Her final state count was 42. MaryAnn enjoyed taking pictures of everyone and anything (aka “flash”), and a good laugh that always made others laugh too. She liked her coffee black, her tequila neat and her slot machines hot.

In addition to her beloved husband Pete, MaryAnn was predeceased by her brother Peter Linsky, her stepson, Ronnie, and step grandson Ky. She is survived by brother Stevan Marish and wife An, stepsons, Dennis (Darlene) and Rick (Pat) DiVittorio, step grandchildren (Geoffrey, Ian, Dennis and Danielle), 2 step great grandchildren (Madison and Miles), many nieces and nephews, and golden girls Carol Poretta, Mandy Regitz and Isabelle Sandt and their families.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ.
