John Molnar, Jr.

John Molnar, Jr

John Molnar, Jr., 83, of Easton, Pennsylvania, and formerly of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, at St. Luke’s Fountain Hill. Born on July 4, 1942, in Gant, Hungary, John was the son of the late John, Sr., and Theresia Zimmermann Molnar. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

John was a graduate of Wallington High School in Wallington, New Jersey. For decades, he owned and operated his own successful bathroom remodeling and plumbing business. Outside of work, he found joy in fishing and hunting in the Catskills. In his later years he enjoyed meeting his friends in the morning at the local Quick Chek for coffee and conversation.

John possessed an extraordinary sense of direction. Long before the days of GPS, he could navigate anywhere with ease. Friends and family frequently called upon his remarkable navigational skills when they were lost; somehow he would be able to pinpoint their location and guide them home, or wherever they needed to go.

A Helping Hand

John was incredibly handy and could truly fix anything. His generosity knew no bounds; even acquaintances would call him at any hour, and he’d readily respond to emergencies, from broken pipes to faulty furnaces. He thought nothing of getting dressed in the middle of the night to help someone in need, often providing his services at little to no cost for those who couldn’t afford them.

He was also a dedicated mentor, eager to share his skills with anyone willing to learn. He guided many junior plumbers in obtaining their licenses and was held in high esteem by Joe Kresefsky, who said “He’ll always be Uncle John to me.”

Indeed, he was affectionately known as “Uncle John” to many.

Family

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings, Emil Molnar and Katherine Link.

He is survived by his children, Robert Molnar and his wife Alexis of Florida, and Gerald Molnar and his wife Linda of New Jersey, along with his grandson, Ryan Molnar. John also leaves behind his siblings, Wendel Molnar and his wife Magdelania of Wallington, New Jersey, and Frank Molnar and his wife Kathleen of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He will be deeply missed by many more than can be mentioned.
