Debra E. Fox
Debra E. Fox, 68, of Knowlton Twp, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2025, and reunited with loved ones gone before us. Debbie bravely battled cancer for many years but always with a smile and was concerned for everyone else.
Debra was born on February 5, 1957, she is the daughter of the late Catherine Abel Smith and Edward Smith.
She graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1975. Debbie often shared that her most important title was Mom to Jacob and “Ganny” to Aubree. She was the coordinator for the Visiting Homemakers Services of Warren County Meals Program for many years and most recently transitioned to the Warren County Meals. Her daily goal was “spreading smiles one meal at a time”. She was truly devoted to her “meals” family. Over the years, so many people have been touched by Debbie’s kindness, smile, and positivity to make a difference in each day no matter what.
We give thanks for the precious time we shared with her, and she will be deeply missed by her spouse, Thomas Fox; her son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Chelsea Fox; her cherished granddaughter, Aubree. Two sisters, Sheree Bethune and Shelly Whitmore (Wendell). Nephews and Nieces, Jestin Davie (Steph), Corey Bethune (Jess) and Aaron Williams (Sarah), Halle Whitmore (Mike) and Tyler Whitmore; great nephews Braydon Davie, Crew Davie and Lincoln Pflugfelder; great nieces Addyson Bethune and Reygan Bethune. Her girlfriends that became sisters, Debbie Tucker, Gayle Poirier and Jodi Amey, as well as many other family members including the Fox family Jim (Sharon), Larry (Denise), Bob, Carol, Nancy, Brenda, Laura, Gary, Scott and many friends, who she shared time with. Debbie recently adopted two fur babies, Maddie and Hope, who were by her side.
Debbie is predeceased by Eddie Boo Merritt; Beatrice and Jerry Daley, her beloved Duchess Magee Smith Fox of Oxford Square (fully rescuing each other), and many other friends and family.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to St. Luke’s network that gave her the quality of life through her treatment, Deb always felt connected with the team; the St. Luke oncology and infusion staff for their unconditional love; St. Luke’s Warren and Anderson Hospital staff who always met her needs. Karen Ann Quinlin for their assistance in keeping her comfortable and loved; and to the many people that truly made a difference in her life.
Debbie’s wish was to have everyone to remember her in happy times. A celebration of life will be announced later. The Finegan Funeral Homes of Phillipsburg & Alpha are coordinating arrangements.
