Margaret “Peg” Ferri

Margaret “Peg” Ferri, 92, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away at home Monday, January 27, 2025.

Born May 17, 1932 in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Menyhert and Rosalie (Szaszi) Sassie. Peg graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1949. She married Joseph Ferri on June 2, 1951 and dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Peg was a lifetime member of the United Presbyterian Church of Alpha.

Peg loved being surrounded by family for holidays, birthdays, or just a chat around the kitchen table.  She kept in close contact with her extended family, neighbors and lifelong friends. She enjoyed trips to the casinos with her husband, family and friends.

In addition to her loving husband of 73 years, she is survived by her six children: Carol Ferri, Joanne (Anthony) Pizzino, Lynn Riker (Anthony Gargone) all of Phillipsburg, Lisa (Kalman) Moyer of Bushkill Township, Sharon (Robert) Varju of Easton, David (Mary) Ferri of Blakeslee, PA, ten grandchildren: Ashley, Emily, Dana, Eric, Chad, Alexis, Colin, Caitlin, Tyler, Allison, and five great-grandchildren: Maddox, Liana, Annie, John-John, and Savannah. She was predeceased by her siblings Ethel Marton, Nicholas and Louis Sassie, and Mary Dalrymple.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Finegan Funeral Home 302 Heckman St. Phillipsburg. An additional viewing will be held Monday, February 3 at 10 AM at the United Presbyterian Church of Alpha, 859 High Street, Alpha, NJ 08865, with the service beginning at 11AM, followed by burial at St. Philip and St. James Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Presbyterian Church of Alpha.
