Moustapha Soumah
Moustapha Soumah was born on 23rd November 1958 in Achimfo-Enchi, in the western region of Ghana. He was born to Opanin Kwame Amanamah; a cocoa farmer and Maame Afia Mbukeh a petty trader; all of blessed memory. He was the 3rd child amongst six children. (Five out of the six children are all deceased now including Mr. Soumah leaving just a sister behind who is currently in Ghana.) He had his primary and middle school education at Abokyia –Enchi in the western Region of Ghana. As life has it and hard work would pay, young Moustapha was adopted by a couple from Guinea by name; Soumah Toure and Bambe Toure Soumah who had come to Ghana for a project. He stayed with this family in Ghana and served them really well and so they couldn’t leave him behind when they were leaving Ghana for Guinea after their Project. A great opportunity for Moustapha in Guinea to enroll in school to continue his education at Lycee Francais Albert Campus where he studied Languages and Mastered in French, Portuguese and Spanish. Yes, Mr. Soumah was multilingual. After his tertiary education, Moustapha lived with his foster parents in Guinea a for a while until he decided to live independently. With the blessings of his foster parents, Moustapha travelled to Cote D’Ivoire to work as a Seaman for 7 years. The people loved working with him and wanted him to stay longer but he also wanted to explore other countries so he left for Cape Verde where he got employment at the American Embassy as a Language Interpreter due to his ability to speak English, French, and Portuguese. At Cape Verde, Moustapha worked with the American Embassy for 4 years and the Consular at that time loved him for his hard work, loyalty and dedication. The Consular then insisted Moustapha moved with him to the USA when the former was going on retirement. This gesture afforded Mr. Moustapha the opportunity to live in the USA. He started as a truck driver while pursuing further education. Moustapha worked with Fisher Scientific for 4 years and he resigned to joined BMS formerly Celgene Group Of Companies and until his demise he worked with QUVA PHARMACEUTICALS as a Chemist. He survived with a wife, Vivica Adwoa Brown and three sons Prince Charles Soumah,Amaziah Brown and Aiden Brown. We have lost a great pillar, a father, a confidant and a fighter but we take consolation in the fact that If the Creator requires the services of His son, we creation cannot but agree. We will not cry again not because we are not in pain or our tears are probably dried up but we trust you are resting with your Maker. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7-8) Rest In Peace! Damirifa Due, Moustapha Soum.
