Nancy J. Hogan
Nancy J. Hogan, 86, of Easton, PA, passed away on June 14, 2026, at Moravian Village in Bethlehem, PA.
Born November 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late James D. Wohlbach, Sr., and Marjorie J. Grube Wohlbach. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Joshua R. Hogan.
Nancy was born and raised in Easton and was one of a few who were in the last graduating class of Easton Catholic High School in 1957. Nancy started her work life at the City of Easton collecting payments for parking tickets and moving up to the position of Coordination Clerk in the Parks and Recreation Department where she enjoyed watching youth athletes grow as she signed them up for the city youth sports teams each year. During that time, Nancy volunteered during the early years of Heritage Day and the Peace Candle lighting events as well as to the youth sports programs.
Without any intention, Nancy had become a highly recognizable figure in Easton and was awarded by the City of Easton with a Certificate of Commendation and Appreciation, with an Award for years of Dedication and Service to the Youth Baseball and Softball programs and was the recipient of the Service Award for 34 years of Dedicated Service to the City of Easton.
Whether Nancy was in a local store or in one of her infamous walks through her southside neighborhood, the trip would take three times longer than expected because of how many times someone would stop to talk to her. Besides bumping into people, Nancy enjoyed gambling with her friends in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and locally – but her favorite place to be was at the beach. Just as with everything, Nancy had a rule – it was mandatory to sit in her backyard to tan her legs before going to the Jersey shore.
Upon retiring, Nancy’s welcoming smile warmed the hearts of everyone at ProJeCt of Easton Food Bank, the Easton Public Library, Easton Catholic Elementary School and Notre Dame High School where she volunteered her time and her abundance of energy.
Nancy was one of one. She was devout in her faith, loyal to her friends, compassionate and generous to all, but her greatest love was her family who she treasured with all of her heart.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Hogan Litzenberger (Douglas), Joseph M. Hogan, Jr., Sara J. Hogan, Michael P. Hogan, and grandchildren; Benjamin J. Hogan, Nicholas R. Litzenberger (Catherine), Zachary A. Hogan and Harper G. Hogan, and a brother, James D. Wohlbach, Jr, (Helen).
A calling hour will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 9:30am to 10:30am at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 132 S. 5th Street in Easton, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at the church, beginning at 10:30 am. The Finegan Funeral Homes of Phillipsburg & Alpha are coordinating arrangements.
Nancy’s request is that in lieu of flowers, it would be her honor if donations were made to the Timothy Grube Scholarship Fund at Notre Dame High School, Our Lady of Mercy or Animals in Distress.
