Margaret M. Becker

Margaret M. Becker, 70, went home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2026 at St. Luke’s Warren Campus. She was born on March 1, 1956 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth Smalley Becker.

She was a professional live in nanny caring for their family’s children. Later she became a caregiver for the elderly.

Margaret was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Phillipsburg, serving in many capacities, singing in the choir, was a Sunday school teacher, and served with MOPS, Mothers of Pre-Schoolers, a form of Bible study. She was a teacher of AWANA Clubs. She was a genuinely loving person, was an avid reader and just enjoyed the simple things in life.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Debra Mutchler of Easton, Pa., and Charlotte Dugans and her husband Lou of Alpha, NJ, along with her nephew, Adam Mutchler, and her nieces Amy Himmel and Heather White. Margaret is also survived by her great-nephew, Cohen Himmel, and great-nieces, Aubrey Himmel, Lewella White, Amelia White and Josephine White.

A gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 9 AM to 11 AM at First Baptist Church, 810 Red School Lane, Phillipsburg, NJ, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 AM at the church.

Private inurnment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery, Phillipsburg at a later date.
