Robert L. Schumacher

Robert L. Schumacher, 79, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 19, 2026 at St. Luke’s Warren Campus.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late Gustav and Norma Felton Schumacher, Jr. Robert served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He worked for Johanna Foods in Flemington, NJ, as a refrigeration mechanic for many years.

He was a member of the Phillipsburg Masonic Lodge #52 F.& A.M., and the Trenton Cyrus Lodge #5, Trenton, NJ. Robert loved Volkswagens and cars in general, enjoyed music, but most of all he cherished time spent with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Nancy Stone, and his brother’s Donald and Vernon Schumacher.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Mitzen Schumacher, his daughters, Doris Rizzo and her husband, Paul of Bethlehem, PA., Amy Murphy of N.C., along with 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M., at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 A.M. The service will be followed with a Masonic service as well as military honors.,  also at the funeral home.
