John R. “Jesse” Garner

John R. “Jesse” Garner, 73, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on December 26, 2025, at his home.

Born February 7, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late James Garner and Violet Hunter Garner.

He was a man who loved his family, and his two dogs, Brodie and Aili. Jesse was also known for his “green thumb,” having a home full of beautiful plants.

Survivors are his wife, Geraldine “Geri” Galle, daughter, Amanda Garner and husband John Brooks, and granddaughter, Katilyn Brooks. Additionally, he is survived by step-children; Christopher Maehr and wife Shannon, Ryan Maehr, Caitlin Zulfic and husband Alene, and Sara Pounder and husband Christian. Step-grandchildren are Cella Jane Maehr, Summer Pounder, and Bo Pounder.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 10:15 am – 12:15 pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ, with a funeral service beginning at 12:15 pm at the funeral home.
