William Henry “Bill” Hubbard Jr.

William Henry “Bill” Hubbard Jr. passed away February 27, 2025.

Born May 23, 1946, he was the son of William Henry Hubbard and Margaret Millhouse Hubbard. A proud graduate of Phillipsburg High School, class of 1964, and retiree of the Century Link/United Telephone Co.

Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sharon (Schneebeli) Kels; his daughters Denise McEwen and her husband Kevin, Danelle Allen and her husband Scott; a sister Sharon L. Jones and her husband Owen.

Bill was “Pop Pop” to his three grandsons Jared Allen, Jordan Allen and Brayden McEwen. Bill was also the stepfather to Kristee Kels-Goodman and the late Kyle Kels. He was a beloved member of his and Sharon’s blended family which includes Kristee’s children, Alee and Barree Goodman, Kyle’s wife Janis and their children, Jade Cook and her husband Tyler, McKenna and Mikhaila Kels, Tanner Kels and his wife Kaitlin; as well as several great step-grandchildren.

He belonged to the Goodwill Fire Company of Belvidere, NJ and the Warren Masonic Freemasons Lodge #13. An avid sports fan, he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees baseball. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and fishing, but mostly he enjoyed living and having a good time.

He made friends easily and had many throughout his entire lifetime. He could often be found with his longtime friend Ted E. Cole, repairing something, mowing grass over at Mackey’s Orchard or shopping in a home improvement store. Bill enjoyed social events of any kind. Laughing and talking to people was how most will remember him.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 6 – 8 pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. The interment will be at the Fairmount Cemetery in Phillipsburg. Visit www.fineganfh.com.
