James R. Lampert
James R. Lampert, Sr. of Pohatcong Township, New Jersey, departed this world on November 14, 2024.
Born on January 30, 1935 in Alpha, New Jersey to Agnes (Sikra) Lampert and John J. Lampert, Sr. James attended Alpha Public School and was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. He retired from Henkels & McCoy after 37 years working his way from laborer to Supervisor. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpha, N.J.
He is survived by Sons, James R. Jr. and John K. (Lydia), Grandsons Ian (partner Kylie) and James, Granddaughter Kaylee Rico (Jaydee), Great Grandchildren, Jasper and Adelaide Rico and his Companion of over 28 Years, Peggy Baka as well as many Nieces and Nephews including, Shirley Flynn, Peggy Verenna-Doebbeling and Arthur Kardos. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirlee Joan (Hoover) Lampert, Brother John J. Lampert, Jr., Sister Ethel Craig, Brother-In-Law Charles (Chick) Craig, and Sister, Barbara Lampert.
Jim loved his Family first and foremost and will be missed by all who knew him. He could make anything grow in his garden, and always delighted in the fact he was picking red tomatoes before his friends. If anything was broken, he could fix it. He was a rock for his Family and Companion and a calm presence for all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
A gathering for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 8:30 to 9:30 am at the Finegan Funeral Home, 924 2nd Avenue, Alpha, NJ, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, Alpha, N.J. at 10:00 am. Interment immediately following in St. Mary Cemetery.
