Florence Flynn

Florence Flynn 88, of Plainfield Township., formerly of Phillipsburg, N.J., passed away peacefully after a brief hospital stay.

Born on January 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Stover E. Ruch Sr. and Anna M Schissler Ruch.

She was the wife of the Late Deacon John Flynn for 64 years. Florence graduated first in her class from Phillipsburg High School and attended Thomas Jefferson College in Philadelphia.   She went on to work at Warren Hospital, and Baker Chemical. After taking time to stay at home and raise her children, she returned to Warren Hospital and retired from there. She enjoyed retirement by spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as hobbies such as crocheting, painting, and researching family history.

She is survived by her three sons, Edward C. and his wife, Stephanie; Thomas P. and his wife Ellen, Bethlehem Pa. and Brian F. and his wife Linda, Palmer Pa; seven grandchildren, Caitlin and her wife Molly Lieber, Sean and his wife Lauren Rosano, Cassidy, Delaney, Bailey, Michael, and Erin; three great grandchildren Emilia, Jane and Felicity; her brother Stover E. Ruch, Jr.; and nephew Robin Ruch.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 6 – 8 pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10 am at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, 430 South Main Street, also in Phillipsburg. The interment will be at St. Philip & St. James Cemetery in Greenwich Township, NJ.
