Susan E. Hanisak
Susan E. Hanisak, 92, of Palmer Township, PA, passed away on May 12, 2024, in Bethlehem Township, PA.
Born August 19, 1931, in Avis, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Beatrice Custred Green. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Joseph Hanisak Sr., who passed in 1997, as well as sisters, June Howard and Jean Mann.
She was retired from Warren Hospital where she was the dispatcher for the transporters, and in her words “the best job, the best boss, and the best employer in her entire life.” Susan had previously worked at Dixie Cup and the Key City Diner.
A member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpha, she taught CCD for 18 years, and sang in the choir. Always willing to help someone, she loved to laugh and was always smiling. She enjoyed playing the organ, working in flower beds, ceramics, cards, adult coloring books, oil painting, and organizing.
Survivors are her son, William Lightcap and wife Mary Claire, of Wilson Borough, and grandchildren; Jennifer and husband Brian, Jason and partner Rachael, Dennis and wife Vicki, and Mark and wife Melinda. Great grandchildren are Kaylee, Madison, Cobi, Rhiannon, Jonathon, Emma, and Hannah. Susan is also survived by two sisters Margaret Rhine and Hazel Brumgard.
The funeral service and burial will be private and are under the direction of the Finegan Funeral Homes of Phillipsburg and Alpha.
