Ann Caroprese

Ann Caroprese went to meet the Lord and reunite with her family on September 10, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Santa (Carro) Caroprese.

Born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Ann graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1972 and later from East Stroudsburg University in 1978. She was a beloved teacher at Saints Philip and James School and Alpha Public School.

Ann is survived by her siblings, Mary Angela Mika (Bruce), James Caroprese (Nancy), and Stephanie Flynn (Edward); her nieces and nephews, Erica Petrick (Andrew), Caitlin Flynn (Molly Lieber), Sean Flynn (Lauren), Alyssa Caroprese, and Salvatore Caroprese; and her great-nieces, Emilia Flynn, Jane Flynn, Gemma Petrick, and Felicity Flynn, who have been the lights of her life. She was a second mother to her nieces and nephews and a grandmother to their children.

Ann was an avid reader who also loved hosting game days, singing – often with lyrics uniquely her own – and striking up a conversation with nearly anyone she met. She will be remembered for her warmth, generous spirit, willingness to help others, and the perseverance with which she faced a lifetime of health challenges. The family would like to thank all those who lovingly cared for her over the years, especially Nancy, Shaleen, and Alexia, who became like family.

A gathering will be held at Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman Street, Phillipsburg, NJ, on October 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Philip & James Catholic Church, 430 S. Main Street in Phillipsburg, on Saturday, October 3rd at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Saints Philip and James Cemetery in Greenwich Township, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. To honor Ann’s memory, please call a loved one, read a new book, or bake a treat for a neighbor.
