Marie Kolenda

Marie Kolenda, 65, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026 at her home.

She was born on August 22, 1960 in Jersey City, NJ, a daughter of Joseph Monto and the late Margaret Michaels Monto. Marie was a retired Nurse and then became a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and watched General Hospital as often as she could. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Charles of 46 years, step-father, Daniel Libby, her mother Margaret, along with her siblings, Joseph, John and Michael Monto.

She is survived by her daughters, Laureen Gilbert and her husband, Scott and Heather Mainhart and her husband, Mark, along with her grandchildren, Raven Kolenda, Scott Gilbert, Jr., and Dylan Gilbert. Marie is also survived by her siblings, Gail Brown, Charles, James and Robert Monto.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 11 AM to 12 Noon at The Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ, followed by a Service at 12 Noon. Interment will then follow at the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp., PA.
