James Setcer Sr.
James Setcer Sr., of Williams Township, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly the weekend of May 3, 2026, at the age of 69. A graduate of Wilson High School in Easton, Jim carried a strong work ethic and quiet determination throughout his life.
Jim built a meaningful career as the Groundskeeping Supervisor at Lafayette College, where he took pride in his work and leadership. He was also a highly skilled Master Electrician, working for himself for many years until his retirement. He was known for his craftsmanship, reliability, and independence.
Outside of work, Jim had a passion for music. He loved playing the guitar and was a songwriter, finding his own way to express himself through his music.
Jim was a quiet man who deeply loved his children. He is survived by his sons, James Setcer Jr. and Zachary Setcer; his stepson, Gregory Smith (Kait); his grandson, Carmine Smith; his longtime companion, Roberta Casciole (Smith); his sister, Mary Hodson; and brother, Neal Setcer Jr., as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Neal Setcer Sr., and Eva A. Ziegler Setcer, as well as a brother, Russell Setcer.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his hardworking nature, and the lasting impact he made on those closest to him. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
