George F. Kohler-Popp
George F. Kohler-Popp, 93, of Alpha, NJ, passed away on March 20, 2026 at Arden Courts of Allentown, PA.
He was born on June 23, 1932 in Campbell County, VA., a son of the late Alfons F. and Kathryn Ward Kohler-Popp. George served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955. He later enlisted in the New Jersey National Guard for 26 years.
He was employed with Ingersoll-Rand, Oxford Textile and then was a Corrections Officer at Annandale Corrections Facility for 25 years.
George was an Altar Server at St. Mary Catholic Church, Alpha, NJ, worked at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Milford, NJ, in the property maintenance capacity. He enjoyed traveling to Hilton Head, S.C. with his wife.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Noll Kohler, who passed away in 2018.
George is survived by his children, Marian Higley of Macungie, PA, Arthur J. Kohler and his wife Dawn of Emmaus, PA, Kathryn J. Hague and her husband Peter of Shiremoor, England and Rosalie Shoemaker of Macungie, PA., along with his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kristen and Sarah. He is also survived by his siblings, Arthur Kohler of Ashburn, VA, Paul Kohler of Chesterfield, VA, and John Kohler and his wife Linda of Buford, GA.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 6 PM to 8 PM at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 2nd Ave., Alpha, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 10 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Alpha, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Mausoleum, Alpha, NJ.
