Grace M. Mirenda

Grace M. Mirenda, 89, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away December 3, 2025, in Phillipsburg.

Born October 4, 1936, in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Bates VanSyckle and was raised in Broadway, NJ.

She worked at the Phillipsburg High School cafeteria for 18 years and was active with the Warren County Election Board for 30 years. Grace was a long-time cancer survivor, a softball coach for PAL, assisted with Meals on Wheels, and is proud of her 5 generations of family.

Grace is survived by her husband of 71 years, Sam Mirenda, who she married October 6, 1954, and children; John Mirenda and wife Sharon, Edward Mirenda and wife Sheila, and daughter, Joan Stefano and husband Rich. Additionally, she is survived by 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, one great grandson on the way, two great-great grandsons and one great-great granddaughter. She was predeceased by children; Marie, Debbie, Robert, and Ann Marie, and sisters, Bertha Marason and Nancy Oberly.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 at the funeral home.
