Blanche J. (Sis) Gebhard
Blanche J. (Sis) Gebhard, 89, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on September 10, 2025 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem, PA surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 11, 1935 to the late Francis T. and Blanche (Cantrel) Flynn Sr.
Sis was a lifelong member of St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church and a 1952 graduate of St. Philip and St. James Parochial High School. She was employed by the Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania, Losey & Company and Flynn’s Catering. Sis was predeceased by her loving husband Robert Gebhard in 2023. They shared 55 years of marriage together. She will be remembered by us all for her strong faith, kindness and compassion for those in need. We are so grateful for having her with us for so many joyful years.
Sis is survived by her daughters Susan (Andy) and grandson Andrew and Regina (Dave) and granddaughter Megan (Aaron) and 3 great grandsons, Ebb, Casey and Wesley and grandson Alex. She is also survived by her loving sister Mary A. Lilly and sister-in-law, Ann Flynn. She was the beloved aunt of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who have all been showing up our entire lives and especially these past few months to visit, help out whenever needed, and best of all, to tell stories and laugh together. Along with her parents and husband Bob, she is predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Daniel, Francis T. Jr, and Deacon John Flynn, sister Patricia Flynn and sisters in law Rita, Doris, and Florence, brother-in-law Jack Lilly and nephews Michael and his wife Marge, Dennis, Mark Flynn and Daniel Lilly.
The family would like to thank the medical staff, care assistants, Father Paul and Deacon Bob at Holy Family Manor for their compassionate care and spiritual support.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 15th, 2025 at St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 430 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Interment will follow the Mass at Fairmount Cemetery, Phillipsburg. The Finegan Funeral Homes of Phillipsburg & Alpha are coordinating arrangements. Visit www.fineganfh.com.
