Thomas Jiorle
Thomas Jiorle, 93 of Phillipsburg, N.J., passed away on August 2, 2025 in his home. Born on June 12, 1932 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late Anthony and Bessie Mascari Jiorle.
Tommy was employed by the New York Italian Bakery in Phillipsburg for over 40 years. He served in the U.S Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church along with the church’s Over 50’s club, and a member of AARP.
Tommy had a warm heart, and was willing to help others. A loving husband and father, Tommy enjoyed family gatherings and mornings at Panera’s and being with the gang.
He is survived by his wife, Mary N. Castronova Jiorle. His children, Mary Ann Sanguinito and her husband Gary, Joan Smith and her husband Mark, Daniel Jiorle and his wife Diane, and Carol Quinn and her husband Jeff. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, along with his brother, Frank Jiorle of Lopatcong Twp. And his sister-in law, Lucy Jiorle of Shimer Manor.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Frances Fontana, Dominick, Joseph, Providence Carita, Dominick Jiorle (A cousin who was raised by his parents), James and Ralph.
A Funeral Mass will be held on August 7, 2025 at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, 430 South Main St. Phillipsburg, beginning at 10 AM. Entombment will follow after mass at Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp., N.J.
