Nancy J. Staley
Nancy J. Staley, 67, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2025, surrounded by family and love. She was born on February 2, 1958 in Phillipsburg, NJ, a daughter of the late Theodore and Hazel Moser Young. Nancy was a proud and active member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution (DAR), where she was the past treasurer for 15 years. She was also involved in 4-H, where she was the superintendent of small animals for 10 years, reflecting er lifelong commitment to community and mentorship.
Nancy dedicated many years of her professional life to support individuals with developmental disabilities as a job coach with the Arc of Hunterdon County. Her compassion, patience, and sense of purpose left a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
A talented and enthusiastic crafter, Nancy found joy in creativity, often making handmade gifts to show at craft shows and for those she loved. She cherished trios to Amish Country in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and snowmobiling adventures in upstate New York with her family. She found comfort and entertainment in mystery shows, game shows, NASCAR, and her favorite-the Hallmark Channel. Christmas was Nancy’s favorite time of year, not just for the decorations and traditions, but for the joy of giving and volunteering her time at St. Philip & St, James Church, giving Christmas gifts to the children. She made the holidays brighter for others by delivering turkeys and meals to those in need and always made time to support local veterans. Her generous spirit was felt far and wide. Nancy was an avid animal lover, with a particular soft spot for corgis. Her love of music, especially the songs of Ozzy Osbourne, added a little rock and roll to her gentle heart. She will be remembered for her warmth, her wit, and her unwavering love for her family, friends and community.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Harry J. Staley, Jr., her beloved son, Harry J. Staley, III, and daughter-in-law, Heather Staley. She is also survived by her brothers, Ted and Earl Jenkins. A gathering will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 12 Noon to 2 PM in the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Nancy may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
