Paul E. Pierce

Paul E. Pierce, 82, of Lopatcong Township, NJ, passed away peacefully, on April 17, 2025, at his residence.

Born March 19, 1943, in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Arlo Pierce and Evelyn Petrie Pierce Biven. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, the late Judy A. Castles Pierce, who passed in 2015.

Paul was a 35-year employee of AT&T as an engineer and spent 8 years as a consultant with Lucent. He was a graduate of Thomas Edison College and was an accomplished chess player, a New York Met fan, and an avid reader.

Survivors are his children; Julie Duffy and husband Michael, Nancy Coyle and husband John, Teresa Mercado and husband Anthony, Michael Pierce and wife Nicole, and Daniel Pierce and wife Katherine. Grandchildren are Ryan, Michele, Christopher, John, Alexis, Kayla, Matthew, Nicholas, Thomas, and Benjamin. Also surviving are great grandchildren; Makenna, Hadley, Ellie, and Rowan, as well as a sister, Elaine Klonowski, sister-in-law, Patricia Martin, and nephew, Jonathon Wells. In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was also predeceased by a daughter, Michele Pierce, and a sister, the late Carolyn Wells.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 6 – 8 pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, 430 So. Main Street, also in Phillipsburg. The interment will be at the St. Philip & St. James Cemetery in Greenwich Township, NJ.
