John Emmanuel Sakos
John Emmanuel Sakos, age 80, of Pohatcong Township, NJ passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2025. He was born to John & Geraldine Sakos on July 15, 1944 in Plainfield, NJ. He was a graduate of North Plainfield High School where he met the love of his life, Toni.
He was a deeply spiritual nature lover. He was a very creative and talented self-taught wood artisan & furniture maker who created numerous pieces of furniture, carved sculptures, and carousel horses. He owned and operated a successful furniture repair & refinishing business, John E. Sakos & Company located in Whitehouse Station, NJ for 45 years. He loved to listen to blues music as well as play the harmonica. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed putting together his dream Rat Rod known as the Chevrolac. He had a love & passion for his aquariums. Above all else he loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife of 45 years Toni include his son Tom Lee of Alpha; his son John Sakos and his wife Zoe of Birchrunville, PA; his daughter Wendy Querry and her husband Jim of Clinton; and his daughters Mary Muscarella & Christine Sakos of Kintnersville PA; his beloved Toy Poodle The Black Pearl; along with 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 1pm-3pm and 5pm-7pm at Finegan Funeral Home 924 2nd Ave, Alpha, NJ 08865. Funeral services will be held at Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 11am with burial to follow at the Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Ave, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
