Jeanne Garrity Ruppert

Jeanne Garrity Ruppert, 88, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on January 1, 2025.

Born February 28, 1936, in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Garrity and Catherine Rooney Garrity. She was also predeceased by her husband of 50 years, the late Andrew Ruppert, who passed in 2007.

A graduate of St. Philip & James High School, Class of 1953, she went on to work as a secretary at Ingersoll-Rand in Phillipsburg. Jeanne was active with the local election board for many years and was a long-time member of St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church. She was also a 50-year member of “card club.”

Survivors are her children; Kevin Ruppert, Janet Cicale and husband Lou, and Mark Ruppert and wife Karen. Grandchildren are; Zachary Ruppert, Shawn Ruppert, Katey Haycock, Lauren Smith, Emily Ruppert, and Brooke Noon, as well as great grandchildren; Beau, Zara, and Lilliana. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by a daughter-in-law, the late Michele Sands.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 4 – 6 pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, 430 S. Main Street, also in Phillipsburg. The interment will be at the St. Philip & St. James Cemetery in Greenwich Township, NJ.
