Jeannette Karmondi

Jeannette Arlene Karmondi, age 79, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away at home on December 24, 2024.

She was born August 17, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA, to Arthur A. Dysart, Jr. and Jeannette (Gerstenfeld) Dysart.

Survivors are; her husband of 56 years, Alex J. Karmondi, two sons; Ben & Melody and Kimball & Karen. A third son was predeceased at birth. She has 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving is brother Arthur A Dysart III & Karen, having 5 children and their families: additional 3 nephews and a niece through marriage.

Jeannette started her working career as a personal secretary to the medical director at Hunterdon Medical Center. She was a real estate associate in Massachusetts, then relocated to New Jersey where she was court clerk in Union Township, owned a consignment store, Jutland Junction and a second business called Gigi’s Doll Hospital, repairing and appraisal services of dolls & teddy bears. In addition, she was a postal clerk for a rural annex post office. Later she was employed as an export coordinator for Deb El foods and lastly became export coordinator for Asbury Graphite Company.

She retired and enjoyed playing the piano, cooking & baking, listening to all types of music, her favorites Eric Carmen, Dave Brubeck, Johnny Mathis, Maynard Furgeson. Throughout her life she enjoyed the theatre, the arts and photography. Enjoyed travel, having visited London and Italy plus the enjoyable Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed reupholstering of furniture. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and all types of needle work. Home decorating was her forte. She was involved with teaching Sunday School, Cub Scout Pack and 4H; wherever she was needed she was there to assist always with a broad smile. She was also a lover of all animals, and helped animal charities such as Common Sense for Animals.

A calling hour will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 Second Avenue, Alpha, NJ.  The Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Old Bethlehem Presbyterian Churchyard on 2 Race Street in Pittstown, NJ.
