Dawn Leslie Wilson “Mimi” Merante
Our ROCK went to be with God and her parents after a short illness. Her tenacity and will to fight has afforded her eighty spins around the sun. Her deep love for her family was evident in everything she did. She had an absolutely brilliant mind and an amazing sense of humor, and was always the voice of reason. Adored by all who knew her, a kind word was always on her lips. She enjoyed reading and watching reruns of her favorite television shows with her husband “Biggy” (Terry Merante with whom she recently celebrated 55 years of marriage). She loved to boss around her main man all day, everyday, and he loved it as well. She adored her sweet Airedale, Boo, and gave him car rides and tons of treats including leftover filet mignon or last night’s prime rib. (Biggy did NOT like this so much when he looked into the fridge only to find out their dog had eaten his anticipated lunch!)
She was the love of Biggy’s life, and the best mother sons could EVER ask for. She adored coddling her granddaughters, whether playing cards/games with them or just chatting. She shared a very special and beautiful bond with her “sissy” and two loving brothers and their families. Her daughters-in-law loved her dearly and welcomed her motherly advice (whether they agreed with it or not).
Dawn also loved her two best friends, Chris and Karen; and she’ll be joining her other besties, Marlene and Anne, in heaven for a full binge session of Downton Abbey and endless cocktails and conversation.
In every way, shape and form, “Mimi” was desperately loved and will be sorely missed.
DONEC ITERUM CONVENIANT, Momma.
