Douglas Hawk

Douglas C. Hawk, 97, formerly of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on October 29, 2024 at Abington Manor at Morgan Hill, in Williams Township, Pa.

Born September 26, 1927, in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the son of the late Reimer Hawk and Esther Pfister Hawk. He was predeceased by his wife, the late Mary Louise Everhart Hawk, who passed in 2011.

Mr. Hawk served in World War II in the Merchant Marines aboard the SS Cape Meredith. He was a self-employed dairy farmer in Riegle Ridge for many years, as well as working with the Holland Township Road Department. He was also a bus driver for Delaware Valley High School. Mr. Hawk was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the Farmer Sportsman’s Club in Holland Township. An avid bowler, he participated in many national bowling tournaments over the years.

Survivors are his sons, Dale Hawk and wife Susan, and Gene Hawk and wife Ann. He was predeceased by a son, Wayne Hawk. Grandchildren are Keith Hawk, Kristie Hawk, Melissa Bickert, and Chris Hawk and his wife, Marcia. Great grandchildren are Jordan Hawk, Shannon Bickert, Samantha Bickert, and Riley Hawk. Additionally, Mr. Hawk is survived by a brother, Larry Hawk, and was predeceased by a sister, Jean Quinn, as well as brothers, Herman and Robert Hawk. Mr. Hawk is also survived by his former daughter-in-law, JoAnn Hawk.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home. The interment will be at the Greenwich Cemetery in Greenwich Township, NJ.
