Annual “Len” Jessamine

Len Jessamine

Annual “Len” Jessamine, 93, of Lopatcong Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024.

Born November 6, 1930, in Brainard, NJ, he was the youngest son of the late Benedetto Gelsamino Jessamine, Nocenta “Anna” Cicale.

Len was always ready for hard work and a good time, dancing and telling stories. The stories of all the adventures were endless: farmer, ice delivery, popsicle stick insertion, repairer of the silk-mill looms, tender of the apple orchard, landlord, winemaker, mason, TV repairer, carpenter, golfer, electrician, refrigeration and HVAC technician. He was a member of the Delaware Park Chemical Engine Company #1, where his stories of the bucket brigade came from. His favorite duty was being a husband to Sue, father to Toni, and grandfather to Brandon. He took care of everyone and wanted to teach others all the things he knew.

Len has been heartbroken since the passing of his wife of 72 years, Sue, in 2023. Numerous brothers and sisters also predeceased him. Survivors are his devoted daughter, Toni Morello, treasured grandson Brandon Jessamine and wife Amanda, and great-grandsons, Nicholas, Andrew, and Leo.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 5-7 pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11:00 am. The entombment will follow at the Northampton Memorial Shrine in Palmer Township.
