Robert Jay Meddaugh
Our beloved father, Robert Jay Meddaugh, passed away September 28th at St. Luke’s Hospital- Fountain Hill, at the age of 82.
He is survived by his wife, Toni Meddaugh, who he was married to for 61 years, two children Brian Meddaugh of Lake Placid, NY and Rob Meddaugh of Springfield, TN. Also, grandchildren Christian, Sophia, Emily, and Carson Meddaugh of Lake Placid, NY, Isaiah and Grace Brown of Springfield, TN, Emily Stroup of Ft. Worth, TX, Jeremiah and Nataly O’Bert of Pittsfield, MA, sister-in-law Bonnie Brill of Bethlehem, PA, niece Stacy Liberti of Nazareth, PA, and nephew Charlie Brill of Quakertown, PA. He was preceded in death by his father Bob, mother Sophie, son Greg, brother Gary, and nephew Christopher.
Jay was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on August, 21st 1942. He graduated from PHS in 1960 and Lafayette College in 1964 with a degree in electrical engineering. He went to California to work for PG&E for 2 years before returning to the east coast to work for GE in Pittsfield, MA for 30 years as manager of Power Transformers. He also was president of Greenfield Tap & Die, then moved to Boston area where he was an adjunct professor at Worcester Poly Tech. He was a lifelong collector of vintage cigarette lighters, avid skier, hiker, canoer, and beloved father.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Main Line Catering, 341 Pursel Street in Phillipsburg, NJ on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024, at 1:00 pm. The Finegan Funeral Homes of Phillipsburg & Alpha are coordinating arrangements.
