Eva Dyrek

Eva Dyrek, 94, of Forks Twp., Pa., formerly of Alpha, NJ, passed away on July 12, 2024 at Country Meadows, Forks.

Eva was born on August 7, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Onufer and Fannie Danylo Prestosh.

She was a seamstress, working for Gary Lee and other various garment factories. Eva was a graduate of Liberty High School. She was an avid cook, baker, enjoyed playing bingo, but most of all enjoyed her family gatherings and making many kinds of Christmas cookies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley who passed away in 1997, along with her siblings; John, Nick, George and Charles Prestosh, Katie Bruder, Anna Kereczman, Helen Clement, and Mary Piripauel.

Eva is survived by her loving sons, Stanley Dyrek, Jr. and his wife Valerie of Lopatcong Twp., NJ, and Alan Dyrek of Sommers Point, NJ. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Jessica and Rachel, her great-grandson Benjamin along with her many nieces and nephews.

There will be No Calling Hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 830 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ. Entombment will then follow at St. Mary Mausoleum, Alpha, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Eva may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org

The Finegan Funeral Homes of Phillipsburg and Alpha, NJ, has been entrusted with her arrangements.
