Laura Kristin Libby Hazelton

Laura Kristin Libby Hazelton, 46, of Belvidere, NJ passed away

unexpectedly but peacefully at her home on August 3, 2026. Her unexpected passing comes as a shock to her family and friends. She lived her life on her own terms and still had so much ahead of her. She was taken far too soon, gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

Laura was born March 18, 1980 in Phillipsburg, NJ to Bradley Libby and Elizabeth O’Neill (Schnieber). She attended Belvidere High School and upon her graduation in 1998, she worked various jobs. Her favorite job was being a mother to her daughter, Melanie, aka Mini Me.

Laura spent her free time helping at the Belvidere United Methodist Church, crocheting gifts for her friends and family, and adventures with her Mini Me, Melanie.

Laura was proceeded in death by her grandparents, George and Catherine Libby, Harry and Margaret Schnieber. She is survived by her husband, William Hazelton, her daughter, Melanie Hazelton, her father, Bradley Libby, and her mother, Elizabeth O’Neill. She is also survived by her step mother, Mary Libby and her step father, John O’Neill, along with her sister, Melissa Libby. She also leaves behind her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Calling hour will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 3PM to 4 PM in the Belvidere United Methodist Church, 219 Hardwick St. Belvidere NJ 07823, followed by a Celebration of Laura’s Life at 4 PM in the church.

Interment will take place at the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp., Pa., privately at a later date.
