William R. LaBar, Sr.

William R. LaBar, Sr., 77, of Harmony Twp., NJ, passed away at the Lopatcong Care Center on August 5th, 2022.

He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ, on December 20th, 1944, a son of the late Harvey S. and Margaret V. Clauson LaBar.  His wife, Bonita V. Baker LaBar, passed away in 2010. They would have celebrated 47 years of marriage that year.

William was employed with Bell and Howell, formerly in Phillipsburg and Allentown, for over 30 years before retiring. He was an avid NY Mets and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and played softball on the Bell & Howell team in the Palmer Veterans League. He was a jack of all trades and could do or fix anything around the house.

Surviving are his children; Theresa M. Burnhauser and her husband Wade; William R. LaBar, Jr. and his wife Kelli; Brian W. LaBar and his wife Jodi; Donna L. Rodenbaugh and her husband Rick; and John L. LaBar. William has a surviving brother, John LaBar. 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren also survive. His sister Arlene Cathers and brother Ronald LaBar, passed away earlier.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday August 10, 2022, from 2 to 4pm at The Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ. A Service will immediately follow at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Shelter for Animal Health and Welfare at healthyanimalcenter.org
