William H. “Pete” Hendershot, Sr.

William H. “Pete” Hendershot, Sr., 72, of Alpha, NJ, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

Born on December 19, 1949, in Somerville, NJ, he was the son of the late Manch and Mary Hendershot.

William worked as a Union Painter for over 40 years. He loved his job and enjoyed bowling, watching NASCAR and cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles. William’s greatest love though was spending time with his family and friends. He was someone to whom others could truly look up to, he would go out of his way to help anyone and never asked for anything in return.

William is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia (Suk) Hendershot, of Alpha, NJ, his grandsons; John Varcadipane, of Alpha, NJ, Matthew Varcadipane, of Elizabethville, PA and Nathaniel Hendershot, of Phillipsburg, NJ, his great-grandson, Logan Varcadipane, his sisters, Ruth Nadeau, of Bishopville, SC and Mary Emilut, of Lebanon, NJ and his many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, William was predeceased by his children, William H. “Chip” Hendershot, Jr., and Cynthia Jean Lee.

A Viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 5 to 7 PM at the Finegan Funeral Home, 924 Second Ave, Alpha, NJ, with a Funeral Service to immediately follow.
