Born May 24, 1958, in Flemington, N.J., he was the son of the late Richard (Lefty) Baumlin and Elsie Reffuge Rake.

Wayne was the owner and operator of The Sounding Board, doing mixing, sound, and video work in the entertainment industry.

Wayne was a sober member of 39 years of AA, and worked with many overcoming their addictions. His words of advice ring through the rooms of AA “Keep your guard up”. His selfless work has saved more than one life, and restored broken men and women to a life worth living.

He was given the nickname of Superman within the last 3 years as he courageously battled cancer, never letting it break his spirit of being there for others in need of his experience, strength and hope.

Wayne's interests were varied and many; motorcyclist, biker, and auto race enthusiast. As well, he was a kayaker, camper, and an accomplished musician who played in several bands. Wayne's list of accomplishments would take up several pages, as would his list of friends. Wayne was blessed with the gift of gab, and a true love of people, he had a way of making anyone feel welcomed and comfortable like family. He will be missed by all; the world has lost a wonderful man. A hero to many.

A Memorial Service followed by a celebration of Wayne’s life will be held Sunday June 2, 2019 beginning at 2:00 at the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church, 4th Street, Frenchtown NJ. Covered dishes are welcomed. Contributions to GoFundMe to help with expenses can be found under “Wayne Rake Cancer Fund”.
