Walter E. Lattig Jr.

Walter E. Lattig Jr., 77, of Bloomsbury, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospice, Bethlehem, Pa.

He was born in Easton Pa. on October 25, 1944, the son of the late Walter E. Lattig Sr and Marian (Worley) Lattig. 

Ed was married to Mary (Krajewski) for 53 years this past August 17, 2021.  He graduated from Easton High School, class of 1962.  Ed was inducted into the U.S. Army in August 1965, spending a year in Vietnam.  He was proud to serve his country.

Ed was employed by Jersey Central Power and Light for 35 years as a 1st class lineman retiring in 2002.  He was a member of the Citizen’s Hose Co.   Ed loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, caring for his yard and growing delicious tomatoes.   He loved his dogs, especially his latest one Coco, often referred to as the “crazy little beast.”  His grand dog Jazz also brought him many years of love and happiness. 

Above all Ed loved his small but mighty family.  He was at all his son’s football games and his granddaughter’s sports events. 

Ed is survived by his loving wife Mary, his son Stephen and wife Kadryn, his granddaughter Jayna Grace who was his pride and joy, and step granddaughter Rachel Papaleo, sister Marie Frankenfield, and many nieces and nephews.   He was predeceased by his son Michael who died at birth.

Family and friends are invited to call Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg NJ.  There will also be a funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Northampton Memorial Shrine.  

The family would like to thank the special doctors and nurses at St. Luke’s Cardiac unit and Hospice for the wonderful care he received.
