Teresa M. Varga

Born in Phillipsburg in 1928, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Theresa Schedler McCann.  Her husband, Joseph G. Varga passed away on May 13, 1998.

Teresa was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Philip & St James Catholic Church, a 1947 graduate of SPSJ Parochial High School, and a member of the Phillipsburg “Rotary Anns”.

She is survived by her children, Joann Flynn and her husband James, Jeanine Varga, Theresa Krohn and her husband Marty, George M. Varga and his wife Judy, Leona Schmeelk and her husband Rich, Joseph P. Varga, Mary A. Capecci and her husband Albert, Stephen M. Varga, and Stephanie A. Karoglanian and her husband Matthew.  Also surviving are her brothers-in law, David Varga and his wife Linda, and Glenn Varga and his wife Gloria.  She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers James and Robert McCann, and a daughter-in-law, Denise Black Varga.

The viewing will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St. Phillipsburg, NJ, from 6 to 8 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019 at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church at 9:30am. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery. fineganfh.com
