Sue L. Stewart

Sue L. Stewart, 91, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on May 13, 2022 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem, Pa. Sue was born on June 7, 1930 in Phillipsburg, NJ, the daughter of the late Christopher C. Gilluly Sr. and Lillian Lark Gilluly. Her husband, Allen W. Stewart, passed away in 1999, they had celebrated 46 years of marriage at the time of his death. Sue is survived by her daughter Susan P. Fishbough and her husband Glenn “Pete” Fishbough of Plainfield Twp., Pa.; grandson Gregory Stocker and his wife Stephanie; great-grandson Dylan Stocker. In addition to her husband and parents, Sue was also predeceased by her daughter, Patricia A. Steele, in 2015, and her brother Christopher C. Gilluly Jr. She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg. She graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1947. Sue was instrumental in starting the library at SPSJ Grammar School, where she was also active with the PTA. Sue was an avid NY Yankees fan, and for many years enjoyed family vacations to Beach Haven, NJ on Long Beach Island. She was most proud of being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Viewing hours will be on Wednesday May 18, 2022 at The Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will begin on Thursday May 19, 2022 at the funeral home at 9:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 430 S. Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Interment will be in Palmer Twp., Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to SPSJ Church or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at alzfdn.org fineganfh.com
