Sixto “Sisco” Robles
Sixto “Sisco” Robles, 90, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Sixto was born on November 19, 1928 in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Clemente and Maria Robles.
Sixto worked at American National Can Company and Lynch Sanitation for many years before retiring as a Pantry Chef at the former Coach N’ Paddock Restaurant in Hampton, NJ. He was a formidable cook, specializing in his Spanish dishes, and loved to share them with his family and friends. He loved gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He resided in Washington, NJ for many years before moving to Phillipsburg in 1977 and he enjoyed his fellowship with the River of Life Church in Phillipsburg.
Sixto is survived by his two daughters, Linda McQuade and her husband Richard of Lopatcong Township, Betty Schaffer and her husband Donald of Phillipsburg; one son, Larry and his wife Nancy of Wind Gap, PA; and four step-children, Stacey, Donna, Donald, and Brian. Sixto is also survived by two brothers, Cristobal and Miguel, and one sister, Blanca, all of Puerto Rico; several dear nieces and nephews; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren; and his former wife, Millie. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by an adopted son, Michael, seven brothers, and one sister.
A Service is being led by the River of Life Church at 5 PM, on Friday, November 22, 2019, at the Finegan Funeral Home, 924 2nd Ave, Alpha, NJ, with Viewing Hours scheduled to immediately follow from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. An additional Viewing Period will be held at the Funeral Home the following day, Saturday, November 23, 2019, from 8:30 to 9:15 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 830 5th Ave, Alpha, NJ. The interment will then be at St. Philip and St. James’ Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
