Ruth M. Fisher

Born on Dec.12, 1925 in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ida Shover Long.

Ruth was a former member of Fellowship Church in Phillipsburg, N.J., and a member of Bethel Memorial Baptist Church, Palmer Twp., PA. She volunteered for many organizations in the local community. She was a member of the Hay School kitchen band. She worked at the former Dixie in Wilson Borough, was a crossing guard years ago in Wilson, was a secretary for Long's Plumbing and Heating, and in her earliest years worked as an Avon representative.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edwin "Bud" Fisher, who passed away in 2009.

Ruth is survived by her loving children, Larry Fisher and his wife, Cheryl of Stockertown, PA, Alan Fisher and his wife, Ginny of Tennessee, Gloria Marsteller and her husband, Charles of Wilson Borough, PA, and Nancy Davis of California. She is also survived by her brother, Douglas Long of Stockertown, PA, and her loving grandchildren, Lisa Straub, David, Nathan, Jonathan, Kevin and Elliott Fisher, Andrea Brame, Carly Kennedy, Cory, Kelly and Andrew Masteller, Christine Saldana, Jonathan, Jordan and Geoffrey Davis, and 23 great grandchildren.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Finegan Funeral Home, Palmer Twp., followed by a service at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp., PA.
