Rosemarie "Rome" Rounsaville

Rosemarie “Rome” Rounsaville, 85, of Palmer Twp., Pa., formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on May 28, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus. 

Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, on April 18, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Santo and Catherine Viscomi Stillo. Her husband of 40 years, and love of her life, Dana Rounsaville, passed away in 1997.

Rome was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School and was employed with various Phillipsburg companies, including Ingersoll-Rand and JT Baker Chemical . She also worked as a teacher’ aide with the Phillipsburg School District before retiring.    She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  She was an avid fan of the NFL, The Cleveland Browns and The LA Dodgers.  She enjoyed going to the Casinos, playing in her card club with her closest and lifelong friends and never missed one of her sons sporting events.  Rome was very athletic and was an outstanding player in local softball league in her younger years . However, her  family was the most important thing in her life and spending time with them was always her top priority.

Surviving are her sons; Dana Rounsaville and his wife Marie of Basking Ridge, NJ; and Kyle Rounsaville and Karen Kunzer of Effort, Pa. She is also survived by her granddaughters Nicole and Christina. In addition to her husband and parents, Rome was predeceased by her sister Ann Simonetta and her brothers Frank “Cheech”, Joseph “JoJo” and Santo “Tony” Stillo.  She is all survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Viewing hours will be held on Tuesday June 1, 2021 from 5 to 8 pm at The Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ and on Wednesday June 2, 2021 from 8:30 am to 9 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 830 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
