Rose Helen Felver (age 92) and Walter David Felver Sr., (age 93)

Rose Helen Felver (age 92) and Walter David Felver Sr., (age 93), went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, February 8, 2021. After sharing a lifetime together, they wanted to spend eternal life together so it is not surprising that they passed away peacefully 30 minutes apart. A beautiful life and a beautiful love story.

They will be lovingly remembered by their children Debra A. Sears of Rochester, MI and Walter D. Felver Jr. and his wife Katy of Ada, MI, grandsons, Walter D. Felver III of Rockford, MI and Henry L. Felver of Bradenton, Fl as well as many nieces, nephews and friends whose lives they touched wherever they were.

Rose was born on June 18, 1928 in Riegelsville, PA. daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Vincze) Sofet. She was preceded in death by her three brothers (James, Frank and Joseph) and three sisters (Mabel, Theresa, and Marion). She was a 1946 graduate of St. Philip & James High School in Phillipsburg, NJ. She was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and a member and former President of the Rosary & Altar Society at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Milford, NJ. She was a District Manager for Beeline Fashions before retiring and was also employed in Customer Relations at Kitchen Magic in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Walter David Felver Sr. was predeceased by his loving wife Rose. He was born on September 4, 1927 in Littleton, CO. son of the late Charles and Alice (Hyndshaw) Felver. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers (Jack, Charles, and Kenneth) and one sister (Grace). Walt served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947 as a Technician Fourth Grade. Walt was an active member and former Commander of American Legion Post 446 Alpha, NJ. He was employed at the Easton Express (now Express-Times) for 44 years where he worked as a designer laying out print ads. He retired in September 1992. Walt was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Milford, NJ, where he was an active member of the choir. His love for music and singing continued when he moved to Breton Woods Retirement Community in Grand Rapids, MI where he joined the Bretonaires and sang for special services.

Rose and Walt were adventurous in life. They traveled the world, and people fell in love with them everywhere they went. But what Walt and Rose might be remembered mostly about is their love for Jesus and were examples of Christ in the life they led. They were both active volunteers and members in their communities in New Jersey and in Michigan, which included: Meals on Wheels, Senior Health Services, and serving on the Hunterdon County Board of Elections for many years. They were both active members of the Holland Township Community Services, where Walt was the former President. They were both members (Rose also a treasurer) of the “Kitchenaires”, a musical group who entertained nursing homes, senior groups, etc.

Rose and Walt celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary in September 2020. Their greatest love in life was their family and their two grandsons, Walter David Felver III and Henry Logan Felver.

Special thank you to the wonderful staff at Holland Home in Grand Rapids, Michigan who provided loving care to them for many years. They will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
