Rosalie Russo

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 72 years, John Russo, who passed Aug. 25, 2018, and her beautiful daughter, Vera Russo Reynolds, who passed Feb. 4, 2019. 

Rosalie devoted her life to loving, nurturing, raising and supporting her family. She had an extremely strong sense of family and was a devout Catholic. She was always full of positive reinforcement and encouragement for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and emphasized the importance of education. 
Rosalie lived by her core values of faith, family, kindness, love and learning. Every Sunday after church Rosalie enjoyed making big Italian dinners for her family and extended family. Her family was her greatest joy. Family vacations in Wildwood were summer highlights.

Rosalie was born Oct. 11, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from the Eastern District High School in Brooklyn, NY. She was employed by the Veteran's Administration in New York City, where she met her husband. Rosalie and John moved to Phillipsburg shortly after their marriage. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpha, NJ.

She is survived by daughters, MaryAnn Marfia and husband John Jr., Linda Dolceamore and husband Anthony, and Christine Sostarecz and husband Jay; sons, Art Russo and Kay Thompson and Joseph J. Russo and wife Ruthann; son-in-law, Craig Reynolds; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Brad, John, and Emmalea Russo, Luke and Hope Sostarecz, and Valerie Reynolds Wasser; great-grandchildren, Blake, Livie, Nicholas, and Matthew Russo and Kole, Tyler, and Crew Wasser; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 830 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ. The entombment will be at the Holy Apostles Mausoleum in Greenwich Township, NJ. There are no calling hours. 
Please join the Russo family at Flynn's On The Hill, 341 Pursel St., Phillipsburg, NJ, following the entombment. Arrangements are through the Finegan Funeral Home in Phillipsburg.
