Born on August 11, 1931 in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the son of the late Jacob and Dorothy Jago Armbruster.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Robert worked for Ingersoll-Rand in Phillipsburg, NJ, in the shipping department and later became the painter for the company. He was employed there from 1952 until his retirement in 1994.
He was an avid sports fan and loved gardening.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his son Michael Armbruster, his granddaughter Rachel Houtz, his son-in-law Thomas Ficzko, along with his sister, Evelyn.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine “Jerry” Fischer Armbruster, his children; JoAnne Ficzko, Connie Skinner (Pat), Eileen Finken (Jeff), Beth Armbruster, Jean Houtz (Chad Schultz). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his sister, Betty Petroll.
A Calling hour will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 11AM to 12 Noon at The Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Palmer Twp., Pa. A service will follow at noon. Interment of his ashes will be held at a later date.
