Rita Tavianini Arnold

Rita Tavianini Arnold, 91, of Easton, Pa., formerly of Alpha, NJ, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 25, 2021.

She was born on May 16, 1930 in Alpha, NJ, daughter of the late Giovanni and Albina Barbadora Tavianini. She was the husband of the late Richard L. Arnold; they were married for 51 plus years on October 30, 2009.

She graduated Phillipsburg High School, Class of 1947 and Allentown Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1951. She was a life member of the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. She was a Registered Nurse, working at several hospitals and doctor's offices, Volmar Mereschak, M.D., and John Burke, M.D.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Alpha, NJ, and a former member of the John Dolak American Legion Auxiliary. She was lastly employed by the Easton Area Public Library. Rita was predeceased by her husband Richard, her siblings, Fermino Tavianini, sisters, Helen Gubics-Jacobs, Mafalda "Molly" Austin-Swinson and Mary Tavianini.

Rita was survived by her children, Keith Richard Arnold and his wife Diane of Nazareth, Pa., and JanMarie McDyer and her husband Sean of Alpha, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Arnold and his wife Heather, Amanda Arnold and Gabrielle McDyer, along with several nieces and nephews.

A Calling hour will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 2nd Ave., Alpha, NJ, followed by a service at 11. Inurnment will follow in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp., Pa.

The Arnold family would like to give a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at St. Luke's Hospice House, St. Luke's Anderson Campus and Promedica SNF (Old Orchard) for their wonderful care and support during the last couple months of Rita's life.
