Richard L Dewalt

Richard L Dewalt, 77, of Forks Township passed away suddenly at home on August 25, 2021.

Dick was born August 17, 1944, to Richard L. and Geraldine Fulton-DeWalt. He was the husband of Arline Roemmelt-DeWalt. They were together for over 20 years.

Dick was a member of the Class of 1962 at Easton Area High School. He was an outstanding wrestler who became PA State Champion in 1962 (133 lb. weight class). He continued his studies at Penn State University on a four year, full scholarship. He was named Penn State Wrestling Alumni of the Year in 2019. After college, Dick enlisted in the US Army during the Vietnam War serving as an 82nd Airborne Ranger and General's Aide. Lt. DeWalt received two purple hearts during his tour of duty.

Dick was the National Sales Manager for C.F. Martin & Company where he worked for over 20 years. He retired from B. Braun as an OEM Senior Territory Manager. Dick was a fierce patriot, hunter, fisherman and a follower of EAHS wrestling. His greatest pleasure was playing golf at Northampton Country Club and the countless courses in Myrtle Beach, SC.

In addition to his wife, Arline, he is survived by his daughters Dianne L. DeWalt, and Elizabeth DeWalt-Piper and husband Tom; step-daughters Melanie Pfeiffer-Parente (Martin), and Erin M. Ramos, PhD (Edward); sister, M. Dianne DeWalt and her companion, Walter Speck. He had seven grandchildren: Carly Pritchard, Sarah Piper, Rachel and Noah Parente; Simone, Logan and Mia Ramos. He had two nieces, Alexandra Chiavetta-Byrne and Ericka Chiavetta-Woodman.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. and on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M., at The Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Palmer Twp., PA. A Memorial Service will follow on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp., Pa., with Military Honors.
