Richard A. Zayle

Born in Somerville, NJ, on May 28, 1945, he was the son of the late Anthony and Irene Polobinsky Zayle. He and his wife, Michele T. Palko Zayle, were married on June 9, 1973, they would have celebrated 46 years of marriage.

Richard served in the US Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War for 13 months. Richard retired in 2000 from Ingersoll-Rand, formerly in Phillipsburg, after 28 years. He was a mechanical engineer. He was an avid fisherman and a collector of military memorabilia.

In addition to his wife Michele, he is survived by his sister Roberta Bell and husband James, brother David Zayle and wife Pam, sister-in-law Annette P. Conroy and husband Chris, brother-in-law John R. Palko and wife Barbara. Richard’s nieces and nephews are Jenny, Chris, Jason, Jon, Chris, Mike, John, Abby, Jennie, Robbie and Raymond.  There are also many great-nieces and nephews and several cousins surviving.

Viewing hours will be held on Monday June 10, 2019 from  4 pm to 7 pm at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 Second Ave., Alpha, NJ.  Services will begin on Tuesday at 9:15 am at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ. Entombment will be in the parish mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Dolak American Legion, PO Box 1091, Alpha, NJ 08865.
