Raymond "Chink" Yenchenko

 Born in Pittsburgh on November 25, 1945, he was the son of the late Trafim and Mary Pancrato Yenchenko.  He and his wife, Anna DePalma, observed their 47th wedding anniversary on July 1st.

He was a 1963 graduate of North High School in West Mifflin Boro, Pa.   He played semi-pro football for North Plainfield. He retired from Buzzi Unicem in Stockertown, Pa. 

He enjoyed travelling to all the European countries. Russia was his most intriguing country.  He also travelled to Japan, Mexico and most of the Islands. Aruba was his favorite island.  He loved working in his garden, providing vegetables for his neighborhood.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a member of the Stockertown Rod and Gun Club.  He enjoyed football and his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.  He enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle.  He rode his Harley one Christmas Day, dressed as Santa Claus, from Alpha, NJ to Pittsburgh, Pa., handing candy and coins to children along the way. He also was Santa Claus at Falk’s.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his sister Nancy Bitkowski, and he was blessed with many nieces and nephews.

Viewing hours will be held on Thursday January 2nd, 2020 at The Finegan Funeral Home, 924 Second Ave., Alpha, NJ from 6 to 8 pm.  Services will be held on Friday January 3rd, 2020, beginning at the funeral home at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, 430 S. Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ.  Entombment will be in St Mary Mausoleum in Alpha, NJ.  www.fineganfh.com
