Owen H. Riegel
Owen H. Riegel, 88, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on November 19, 2022 at St. Luke’s, Warren Campus.
Born September 18, 1934, in Holland Township, he was the son of the late James Riegel and Laura Pursell Riegel.
Owen lived his entire life in Holland Township and in 1951, as a teen, he began a 47-year career with the Holland Township Road Department, where he would one day be superintendent for 30 years. After retirement, he returned part-time in buildings and grounds maintenance. He enjoyed cars, hunting, yard work, tinkering in his garage, country music and dancing, telling jokes, and time spent with his grand and great grandchildren. He was a past member of the Farmers Sportsman Gun Club and the Milford Lions.
Owen and his wife, the late Rose Fusciardi Riegel, raised four children; Pam Young and husband Jim, Owen Riegel and wife Kathleen, Rosalie Deljanovan and husband Dave, and Brian Riegel and wife Holly, in addition to 5 grand and 4 great grandchildren. Owen is also survived by sisters, Joyce Cantrell and Kathleen Stocker. He was also predeceased by sisters and brothers; Stella, Edna, Eve, Jeannie, Irene, Ralph and Jim.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 5-7pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 924 2nd Avenue in Alpha, NJ. The funeral service and interment will be private.
